Hey, all! [I'm re-posting a few of my past posts, since it's only recently I've gotten this blog working right! :)]
[this post was originally made on Sept. 7th] Neat stuff happening: 1) Looks like I'll be selling books for the 1st time at a con! Yep, I will be at P-Con in Irving, Texas, on the Weekend of Sept 19-21 with a table and copies of all three books in the Young Chesterton Chronicles series, and The King's Gambit too! :D 2) I'm going to be starting a fundraiser on fundmycomic.com at the end of September! Back in the Big 80s when I was 16, my two friends Brad, Sean and I talked about starting a comic book company, Emerald Productions Incorporated. Well, a busybody at my highschool told me how, 'Acktualy...' I couldn't call it 'incorporated' since it wasn't a corporation. That fellow is no longer with us, but my good friend Richard Dobal suggested: "You can still call it EPI for short; just call it 'Emerald Productions and Ideas' So, I have. :) EPI is putting out it's first comic after we raise the funds, and distributing it on Ka-Blam.com. Gone are the days when you had to beg the gatekeepers , hat-in-hand, to publish or distribute your comic, and the cancel-mob was busy salivating at the chance to derail someone's dream if the book didn't meet their twisted political litmus test. :) So,

....here's the cover! Art by the AMAZING Grayson Bowling, comic artist for Voyage Comics, the cover of Red Sands, and a whole host of other artistic goodness! The $3900 raised will cover fees art pencils, inks, coloring, lettering, the works! So glad God led me to a talented artist who's practically a one-man band! :D Got the first draft of the fundraising vid up; any constructive [or destructive; I'm flexible] criticism welcome! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD7ROVVU3cI
Take care! Oh, please buy a few books; as some of you know, I had a little misadventure with a staph infection this past summer. THe little buggers decided to turn my internal organs into a world-class tetherball match, and I ended up in the hospital for three weeks. The docs did a good job on me; the nursing staff at Baylor hospital in Irving were AMAZING- heck even the FOOD was good! But the bill's coming due, and even with insurance, it's gonna be a be a bit of a hit. So, any extra $ I can scrape up will be VERY welcome! :D God bless, John
